Gathering the money for higher education can be tough. That’s why Goal: beyond offers scholarships available to students from various walks of life. If you have a dream, we want to hear about it.

Our scholarship essays give you the chance to tell us all about your goals – and you could be awarded $2,500 to help fund your dream.

Scholarship Categories

Goal: beyond is proud to partner with Ascent to offer a $2,500 scholarship! To enter for your chance to win, choose one of the following topics and write a 500-word essay addressing the prompt.

 

Scholarship entries open on October 10th, 2022, and close on November 14th, 2022. 

As a college student, achieving financial independence may feel like light years away, but there are many ways you can start managing your finances and maintaining your financial wellness in college.

 

Describe three ways you plan to use this money to be one step closer to achieving financial independence.

Community service is a great way to give back to your community and dedicate your time to the causes you’re passionate about. It’s also an opportunity to gain experience while building your personal and professional brands.

 

Tell us how you plan to use this money to support a community service project that will impact three societal needs.

Innovation is critical in challenging the status quo and providing creative solutions to solve real-world problems. This is even more critical when talking about sustainability and protecting the natural and physical resources around us.

 

 Share three ways you plan to use the money to build an innovative project in one of the core areas (economic, environmental, and social growth).

In college, there are many responsibilities to navigate, like staying on top of a packed schedule and joining extracurriculars while making time for friends. However, it’s important not to lose sight of your career and professional goals.

 

Explain three ways you plan to use this money to continue pursuing your career and professional goals.

All essays will be judged according to a standard score sheet adopted by the committee. Originality, quality of writing, and relevance to the prompt are among the criteria your essay will be judged upon.

How to apply

Step 1: Choose which scholarship category you’d like to apply to.

Step 2: Prepare a 500-word essay that responds to your chosen prompt.

Step 3: Provide your information in our online form and attach your essay.

Step 4: Submit your application.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Goal: beyond scholarship, you must be:

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Enrolled in a U.S. university

  • Able to respond to the prompt in essay format

  • Able to provide the information we request

  • International students can apply if attending a U.S. university

Scholarship Winners

Scholarship winners will be announced two weeks following the deadline. Winners will be notified via email and mail correspondence, and a Certificate of Award will be provided. If you’ve won, you must submit an intent to accept the award within 10 days.
 

Scholarship FAQs

What is a scholarship?

A scholarship is a financial award given to students who meet the criteria – this criterion may be income-based, merit-based, or as part of a competition. Goal: beyond scholarships are awarded based on completion of an essay prompt graded on a standard scale adopted by our committee.

Can international students studying in the U.S. apply for these scholarships?

Yes, international students studying at a U.S. university are eligible for Goal: beyond scholarships.

Are DACA students eligible for Goal: beyond scholarships?

Yes, DACA students can apply for our scholarships.

How many scholarships can I apply for?

You can apply for one scholarship per quarter. Each quarter, four scholarship prompts are available – it can be tough to narrow it down, but try to choose the one that you’re most passionate about!
